The Corunna Dam was constructed in 1840 to provide power for a mill.
The dam has a structural height of about 10 feet, a normal head of 7 feet, and creates an impoundment with a surface area of about 17 acres.
The length of the dam is about 200 feet, with a 25-foot-wide stop-log bay section at the right (west) abutment.
The mill site was purchased by the Corunna City Council in 1979 for $17,000, although the ownership of the dam is unknown.
It has been estimated that it will cost in excess of $500,000 to either repair or remove the structure.
