Perry Building Coming Down!
Perrin Construction of Durand, Michigan began demolition of the Perry Building
on Friday, January 21, 2006 to make way for a new downtown Chemical Bank.
The Corunna Downtown Development Authority had just recently purchased
the Perry Building from Shiawassee County, for re-sale to Chemical Bank.
Formerly the Shiawassee County Prosecutor's Office, the county had most recently used
the building for the offices of the Shiawassee County Health Department Administration.
The interior has been gutted, windows removed and the pitched roof demolished.
This next week the remaining building will be raised and the site cleared.
In it's place will be a new Chemical Bank set back further from the road
and more centered on the lot with drive bays in the rear.
