After having grown up in the country with a half acre or so garden on a seven acre or so homestead.... who would have thunk a small garden in the city would be so darned (excuse my vocabulary) complicated? The deer never seemed to bother our country garden. Maybe it was the dog leashed up outside... the abundance of food resources in the farmers crop fields, or the shotgun laoded with buckshot at the back door? Move to the city (if you call a population of ~3,300 a city), and the deer, racoons, rabiits and othe varmit will eat you out of house and home! The attached photos are my solution for an urban deer-proof garden. Rabbits, raccoons, and most other friendly neighbors are locked out as well! The bonus to this garden creation is that weeding and bending over has been greatly reduce... both activities my aged body could do without! My Urban Masterpiece! 100 landscape trimbers from Home Dept (1/2 off sal -10% Veterans Discount.... 3 rolls of 5' x 50" fencing (to add to my ~3' chain link fence, woodchips, patio stones, planters... misc fastners.... & other such stuff.... ~ $600 American on sale.... $10 Chineese...
Three weeks later...

If Deer could talk! "Eat Me" is what I would have to say!

Don't "F" with my Gnome! ("F" = "Fart Around")
